Brian Calvert founded Global Focus Travel with a clear purpose: to design international journeys that are immersive, thoughtfully curated, and genuinely perspective-changing.

A Chicago native, Brian has lived and worked in China, Ireland and New Zealand, experiences that shaped his global outlook and hands-on approach to travel design. He now splits his time between Chicago and Thailand with his wife and young daughter, maintaining deep, on-the-ground connections across regions where Global Focus operates.

Brian has spent more than a decade managing and designing group travel programs worldwide for adults and students alike, with extensive experience across Europe, South America and Africa - as well as Asia, where he brings particular regional expertise. Since 2016, he has managed a great deal of international programs for Stanford University, where he previously worked full-time for their renowned Travel/Study program. He has also designed and overseen trips for groups affiliated with Princeton University, Harvard University, Yale University, museums and Jewish heritage travel organizations.

Global Focus Travel works one-on-one with institutions, organizations, and private groups to craft fully customized international programs of any size. Every itinerary is built from the ground up and personally overseen in-country, ensuring seamless logistics, meaningful access, and an uncompromising standard of quality throughout the journey.
